happy New Year
Dec. 31st, 2004 03:25 pmJust got back from Borders and I finally have it - my very own Hellsing volume 5. ^___^
It wasn't available before X-mas, but now they have tons of copies. Also got the last book in the Shadow saga (4 books), The Gathering Dark, by Christopher Godlen. I read the other volumes over a year ago and have been dying to read the last one. It's got most of the great things that Hellsing does (except for the Nazis): Vampires, insane Catholics, strong women, and humor. There are also ancient demons (and a trip to hell and back). It is a GREAT read and it's been the only vampire novel besides Hellsing (and Dracula) that have held my interest. And bought a Buddhist planner - hoping to learn more about the religon. And I'm VERY happy that my dad invited me out to dinner tonight at a GREAT steak house. Can't wait to eat some filet mignon. I don't drink sooo eating is my celebration.
And I've started yet another Hellsing ficlet. It's some dark thoughts of Alucard taking place after the current storyline. Not sure what else - might have a semi-smuttish scene with Integral.
Anyways - HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of my LJ freinds.

Date: 2004-12-31 10:29 pm (UTC)months agobut it doesn't compare to having the actual book in hand. Somehow the scans don't convey just how erotic Rip's death scene was - OMFG! Hirano can sure draw the the blood drinking & tongues so damn sexy. I know I am twisted.I do want to check out The Sandman. I might do that now that I've gotten Hellsing, vol 5. I also want to buy the X 1999 series. I don't like many shojo series but that one is dark, twisted, and gory enough for me. I've also started Esclaflowne. And Angel Sanctuary seems good. Read the 1st volume.
Thanks for the compliment! I like your writing too. Love the Pip & Seras one. <3

Date: 2004-12-31 10:34 pm (UTC)Thanks for the tips on vampire novels. I'm always looking for good horror/suspense novels.
Re: Happy New Year 2005!
Date: 2004-12-31 10:43 pm (UTC)Does it look like Millenium will lose and has any major character died (besides Pip--I know that).
I also heard something like Walter may have gone insane or something like that. It would be interesting (from a writer's pt. of view) if Integra has to kill him...
Re: Happy New Year 2005!-SPOILERS
Date: 2004-12-31 11:49 pm (UTC)Yes, I know how that is (old pc/slow connections). I spend too much money on broadband but I can't go back to dial up now.
Do you have a CD rom drive? If you want to send me a mailing address, I could send vol 6 (up to ch 4) and vol 7 (full) on CD (my email is keliaATbluebottle.com).
So far no one is "winning." Alucard has returned and Integral released all his power restrictions. He did and released his enslaved souls (many of those he has killed through the centuries-including Rip & Dandy Man). Maxwell is scared shitless. London is devistated. Can't remember exact number - but very few surrvivors. Only Seras, Integral, and Alucard surrviving from Hellsing. Alucard has killed much of the vatican's army (the knights with pointy white hats). Seras/Pip killed (wiped the floor is more like it) Joleen/Zorin. Walter IS on Millenium's side. Don't think he has gone insane but it is some kind of "wizardry" peformed by Major/Doc. He may be a vampire as one of the covers for Young King Ours (magazine that runs the monthly Hellsing manga) has him with red eyes. Oh yeah, and you do know the Pip's soul being inside Seras. So they are together forever. Sounds sappy but is genius - IMHO.
Yes, the Integra/Walter connection should be interesting from writing viewpoint. If she has to kill him or if she somehow brings him back to Hellsing's side. So far he has been rather emotionless - almost like the Captain from Millenium. I think that is it. But, I may be missing something.
Much of the Hellsing does make for great writing. For me, I love the whole PipxSersa storyline with one soul and the growth of Seras as a vampire. I should shut up now.
Thanks very much...
